I'm currently building a kit guitar, how much material can be removed from the back of the neck? Also is there a source for necks for people with my handicap, without going to a 3/4 scale? I would also like comments from guitarist with the same handicap, and how they overcame. THANKS

Hi, it's so great to see this forum still up and running!

I'm wondering if anyone can tell me the easiest and safest, most effective way of removing the "mudswitch" circuit from my Gretsch 6118 Double Anniversary. I never liked the circuit, and the switch is now broken.

Gretsch/Guild comparison?

Can anyone enlighten me as to the tonal similarity/difference between 50s/60s Gretsches & Guilds, if both are fitted with similar Dearmond single-coil pickups - there seems to be a big price-difference, does this reflect their respective quality, or is it just a name-on-the-headstock thing?

Hi there, I won't bore anyone with a rambling introduction, but I am looking to buy a NEW semi-hollow body guitar this year.

My requirments:

1. A minimum of an 1 11/16 inch neck.

Hi.I've just scored a beautiful Silvertone 1446L thinline. It seems to be pretty difficult getting much info on it. I'm specifically trying to find out the year it was made but am having no luck. All I know is that it's from the sixties. If anybody has any idea, I'd appreciate it. Thanks

Hi-- I'm new here. I'm trying to re-wire a 3 pup hollowbody. I am replacing the pickups with 2 DeArmonds in N & B positions and a Filtertron in M position. In addition I want to have independent volume controls, including a push-pull to tap the Filtertron (it has the wiring to do so). I also want a single tone control (instead of 1-per-pup), and I want to use a 5-way/4-pole rotary switch (PRS-style) to switch between pups in the same way a Strat does (B-BM-M-MN-N).
